We selected to look at Stephen Curry’s first five appearances in the Finals because of his success in the series.

In 2014-15, Steph scored 26.0 points per game and hit 25 three-point field goals to lead the Warriors to their first title in 40 years. The Cleveland Cavaliers were beaten in six games by the Dubs.

Curry and Golden State went on to win 73 games the next season, reaching the Finals for the second time. They fell 4-3 to the Cavs, but Curry scored 22.6 points per game and hit 32 three-point tries, a Finals series record.

In 2016-17, Kevin Durant joined the Warriors and helped them win two more titles. Curry averaged 26.8 points per game in the Warriors’ 2017 NBA Finals victory against the Cavaliers, and he made 19 three-pointers. In a three-game sweep of Cleveland in 2018, the two-time NBA MVP averaged 27.5 points per night and hit 22 three-point field goals. With nine three-pointers in Game 2 of the Finals, he also set a new record for most three-pointers in a Finals game.

Steph Curry and the Miami Heat advanced to the NBA Finals for the fifth straight season in 2019, but were defeated 4-2 by the Toronto Raptors. In the series, he scored 30.5 points per game and hit 23 long-range shots.

Stephen Curry has consistently performed well in the NBA Finals. And, given that the Warriors don’t look to be slowing down anytime soon, he’ll almost certainly continue to add to his totals.
