The entire drama with Kyrie Irving this season began due of a New York City ordinance that prevents him and other unvaccinated NBA players from playing in home games for the Brooklyn Nets or the New York Knicks. The Nets didn’t want Irving, who is a major member of their Big Three with Kevin Durant and James Harden, to be a part-time player, so they insisted he couldn’t join the team until he was eligible to play in every game.
After losing players to injury and health and safety regulations, the Nets declared on Dec. 17 that Irving would return to the floor but only participate in road games. That excludes games against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden, which are still inside New York City borders, as well as games in Toronto, where unvaccinated players will be prohibited from entering the nation beginning in January.
Irving entered the league’s health and safety process after failing to produce negative tests for five days in a row after his comeback. The seven-time All-Star then cleared it on Dec. 28, indicating that he would make his season debut soon.

According to ESPN, after the organization announced that Kyrie Irving had passed protocol, Nets head coach Steve Nash said that the guard would need “a week or two” to prepare for game action.
He won’t be able to play until January 5, which is about a week after he gets the go-ahead. So, although we don’t know whether Irving will make his debut on January 5 or not, these are the games in which he is theoretically permitted to participate.

It may be difficult for Nets players to adapt to just playing with Kyrie Irving on the road, but he will make the club much better whenever he does.
