The Jaguars are on the verge of breaking the NFL record for most consecutive losses in a single season. They are currently on a 16-game losing streak, which is only one game away from tying the league’s all-time worst mark.

The urban meyer trevor lawrence is a comment that was made by Trevor Lawrence in response to Urban Meyer’s statement about the Jaguars.

Around the Jacksonville Jaguars organization, things aren’t looking good. The Jaguars dropped their 20th consecutive game against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday, despite all of the hype surrounding head coach Urban Meyer. Meyer and rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence are still looking for their first win.

It’s not a good scenario, and Meyer has become the buzz of the sports world after making a slew of dubious choices in his debut season as an NFL head coach.

Following the defeat on Sunday, things became even more complicated and perplexing when Meyer and Lawrence offered opposing accounts of a critical fourth-down call.

Trevor Lawrence, according to Urban Meyer, was not prepared for the play call.

The Jaguars faced a 4th-and-goal situation on the 1-yard line early in the fourth quarter, with a chance to make it a one-score game. Despite James Robinson’s career-best running day, the Jaguars gave the ball to Carlos Hyde. In a surprising turn of events, the Jags also passed up a chance to sneak it in with Lawrence.

Meyer discussed his choice to run the ball with Hyde rather than Robinson or making the easy call to have Lawrence sneak it in after the game (h/t Juston Lewis of the Florida Times-Union).

“I don’t keep track of who’s in the game.” I should have known better — not only is James running fast, but so is Carlos. I need to find out whether anything went wrong with James in that scenario. “As for the quarterback sneak, he’s still getting used to it.”

On a critical fourth-down decision, Urban Meyer

There’s a lot here to unpack. Meyer, for starters, had no clue that Hyde was playing instead of Robinson, which is perplexing. Lawrence was also “uncomfortable” with the quarterback sneak, according to the Jaguars’ head coach.

Hyde was sacked by a slew of Titans defenders, and the Jags didn’t score again for the remainder of the game, losing 37-19. Meyer decided to send Hyde out there because Robinson was having a career day, and he also denied his quarterback a chance to sneak it in.

Lawrence claims he was prepared for the surprise.

Meyer’s remarks regarding quarterback sneaks are refuted by Trevor… “We can always get to QB sneak,” he added, “and I feel comfortable with that.”

Lawrence was questioned about his unexpected decision to run with Hyde rather than try for a quarterback sneak. In contrast to Meyer, the No. 1 overall draft pick made some unusual comments.

“No, I’m perfectly at ease.” Obviously, I haven’t used it in a game before, but I am comfortable with it. It’s something on which we’ve been working. We have faith in our front-line players, and we have faith in our backs in that scenario… But, no, a QB sneak is something we can all do, and I’m OK with it.”

On the fourth-down decision, Trevor Lawrence

Meyer argued differently in a strange post-game news conference, despite the fact that the former Clemson standout acknowledges he was OK with a quarterback sneak call. Meyer didn’t run it with Robinson or Lawrence, and the Jags were stopped short and had to hand the ball back to the Titans.

So, when it comes to quarterback sneak preparedness, Lawrence and Meyer say two different things. In any case, the Meyer story continues to be a surprise and a disaster in Jacksonville.

Meyer and the Jaguars’ never-ending tale has them on the brink of making NFL history.

The Jaguars were unable to win today, and their losing run is now the third-longest in NFL history.

Since the 2020 season, the Jaguars have not won a game and have lost 20 in a row. Jacksonville travels to London this weekend to play the one-win Miami Dolphins, providing Meyer and Lawrence with their greatest chance to date to win their first game.

The Jaguars are perilously close to tying the NFL record for most wins since the merger, which is 26, and Robinson does not want that to happen (h/t ESPN’s Michael DiRocco).

“It’s impossible to comprehend… We have to figure out a means to win.”

Jacksonville’s losing skid, according to James Robinson

It’s been a disaster, and all eyes will be on the Jaguars for as long as Meyer is in charge, which may not be long if they can’t win football games.

Meyer makes a series of highly criticized choices on and off the field, including the notorious dance incident with a lady who isn’t his wife, causing chaos in the organization. Now, Lawrence contradicts Meyer’s statement on the play call, further complicating matters, not to mention the decision to relieve Myles Jack of his play-calling duties.

If they don’t defeat the Dolphins on Sunday in London, Meyer’s tenure in Jacksonville may become much more tumultuous.
