The Rams were looking like they would be a lock to make the playoffs but then suffered an injury that has put their season in jeopardy. This is nothing new for LA; the NFL team was recently found negligent and forced to pay out damages after suffering a similar fate last year, when it lost Todd Gurley due to injury halfway through his rookie campaign.

The “rams player injured today” is the latest injury to hit the Rams. The team is already struggling with injuries and this one could prove to be a major problem for them.

The Injury Bug Just Struck the Rams at the Worst Possible Time

The Los Angeles Rams will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Divisional Round this weekend, fresh off a rout of the Arizona Cardinals. The Buccaneers are a significantly superior opponent against the Cardinals and should provide a greater challenge.

The Rams, on the other hand, went all in last season and should be confident. They added Matthew Stafford, Odell Beckham Jr., and Von Miller to their roster in a matter of months. This is a squad that is built to win right now.

The Rams and Buccaneers should have a difficult time competing against one another.

Both the Rams and the Buccaneers cruised to first-round playoff victories. The Rams defeated the Cardinals 34-11, while the Buccaneers defeated the Eagles 31-15. Both games had a very low tension level.

The Divisional Round, on the other hand, should be a significantly bigger test for each squad. Both the Rams and the Buccaneers have outstanding pass rushers up front, putting Matthew Stafford and Tom Brady in difficulty. Both quarterbacks aren’t extremely mobile, so they’ll have to make lightning-fast reads in the pocket.

According to CBS Sports, the Buccaneers are modest favorites (2.5 points) coming into Sunday’s matchup. This is most likely due to the fact that they are at home. Regardless, 2.5 points is a minuscule difference.

With that in mind, as we approach closer to kickoff, the line may begin to favor the Buccaneers. The Rams have been hit by the injury bug at the worst possible moment, severely reducing their prospects of winning.

Beginning LT Andrew Whitworth has been ruled out of the game.

An injury was the last thing the Rams needed against the Bucs’ great defensive line. Nonetheless, that’s precisely what they’ll receive.

The Rams have announced that starting left tackle Andrew Whitworth will not play on Sunday, which is a huge loss for the team.

Andrew Whitworth is out for the game, according to head coach Sean McVay, who informed reporters at his Friday news conference.

During the Rams’ win against the Cardinals on Monday, Whitworth hurt his knee and ankle on the first offensive play. Whitworth returned to the game and played a total of 30 offensive snaps. However, he did not appear in the second half.

This goes without saying, but it’s important. When it comes to targeting Stafford’s blindside, the Buccaneers will have a significant edge.

Will the Rams be able to rebound from this setback?

Joe Noteboom, a third-round selection in 2018, is expected to step in for Whitworth on Sunday. In four seasons, he’s made 17 career starts, so he’s not completely inexperienced. However, replicating Whitworth’s anchor on the Rams’ left side of the offensive line is difficult.

In either case, Noteboom has to play his best game in Tampa Bay.

In addition, Rams coach Sean McVay must devise a strategy to compensate for his team’s recent setback. Assisting Noteboom, pulling Stafford out of the pocket, drafting quick-developing plays, and so on. When it comes to kickoff, McVay can’t afford to overlook the obvious vulnerability at left tackle.

The Buccaneers, on the other hand, would be advised to go for Noteboom early and frequently. Blitzes and more pass rushers on the left side of the line will put Stafford in difficult situations all game.

Byron Leftwich, the Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator, isn’t dismissing Tom Brady’s retirement rumors.
