The Philadelphia 76ers have been in the news recently for their seemingly endless Ben Simmons saga. After the Sixers traded away Markelle Fultz, they were left with a logjam at point guard and no clear direction. They decided to trade Simmons to the Utah Jazz who will send them Jae Crowder, Trey Lyles, and a first-round draft pick in exchange for Simmons

The ben simmons trade is a hot topic in the NBA right now. With the Philadelphia 76ers being put on the block, teams are scrambling to find a destination for Ben Simmons. One team that makes a lot of sense as a trade destination is the Milwaukee Bucks.

The stalemate between Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers is still going on. After failing to show up for training camp, the 2016 No. 1 overall selection forfeited $8.25 million, and he stands to lose additional money with each game he skips. While Philly general manager Daryl Morey continues his hunt for trade partners, he has said that he would never play for the team again.

Another prospective bidder may have emerged recently, adding to the already long number of suitors. The Indiana Pacers are a basketball team based in Indiana.

The 76ers and Ben Simmons are stuck in a rut.

When the former LSU star chose to remain at home in California rather than report to camp, Philadelphia lost its most valuable negotiating tool, at least for the time being. It didn’t work if the group was trying to call Simmons’ bluff. The great point guard seems certain in his desire to go, regardless of the cost.

Simmons has also said that he is willing to forego game checks. Preseason games would set him back about $300,000, with regular-season games costing much more.

Morey, on the other hand, is staying firm. Philly’s general manager is renowned for his desire to “win” deals, so selling his former franchise guard for pennies on the dollar isn’t an option.

The stalemate will continue until Simmons chooses to return to the team or Morey finds a deal that he likes.

The Indiana Pacers have joined the fray as a surprise contender for Simmons.

The Timberwolves, Pacers, Cavaliers, Pistons, Raptors, and Spurs are still asking about Ben Simmons’ availability, according to a league source.

Golden State, the Los Angeles Lakers, Minnesota, Toronto, Cleveland, Indiana, Sacramento, Portland, and San Antonio were all on the list of possible destinations for the unhappy former Tiger at one time. A few of the teams have disbanded. According to reports, the Philadelphia 76ers want to trade Simmons to a Western Conference club.

However, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, who spoke on The Jump, the Pacers seem to be the best match for Simmons right now:

“I believe the Indiana Pacers are the underdog in this scenario. First and first, I understand that they do not have an All-NBA player to trade, but they do have a lot of very excellent guys. They like the notion of being able to trade for a player like Ben Simmons, who would be under their control as a member of the team.

“I still believe they’re right in the center of the Eastern Conference pack, and Rick Carlisle is a premium coach today. You may attempt to bring in a high-end talent. I believe they are waiting for the Sixers to agree to make the best trade possible, because I believe they can make an offer that few other clubs can match.”

The Indiana Pacers’ Simmons predicament, according to Brian Windhorst

The Pacers are never a free agent destination, according to Windhorst, since they are a small-market club that prefers to trade for players who are under team control.

A package centered on Malcolm Brogdon, Caris LeVert, Myles Turner, or Domantas Sabonis might be put together by Indiana. The Pacers also have intriguing young players like Goga Bitadze, a 2020 first-round selection, and Chris Duarte, a 2021 first-round choice.

Morey may be enticed even more by the fact that the club has full control over all of its draft choices.

Eventually, one of the sides will have to give in.

Indiana and other teams around the league, according to Windhorst, are waiting for Morey’s asking price to drop. There’s a possibility it won’t, but someone has to blink at some time.

This is one of the strangest NBA scenarios in recent memory. The 6-foot-11 point guard’s contract has four years remaining on it, so Philadelphia could potentially do nothing and wait for it to expire. On the other hand, if Simmons and his team really feel it is the Sixers’ duty to locate the best possible deal, he may not give up anytime soon.

Trade rumors and potential destinations will continue to emerge until something occurs. Indiana is the most recent example.
