The Steelers are not only in the midst of a transition period with their present roster, but they’re also likely heading into the twilight zone without one of most successful quarterbacks to grace modern football.

did ben roethlisberger retire” is a question that has been circulating for the past few weeks. Steelers rookie Najee Harris gives an honest take on his role in Ben Roethlisberger’s likely swan song.

Steelers Rookie Najee Harris Delivers Honest Take on Underdog Role in Ben Roethlisberger's Likely Swan Song

At least one more game in the NFL was granted to Ben Roethlisberger. As a dramatic finish to the season, the Pittsburgh Steelers secured a berth in the NFL Playoffs after the Las Vegas Raiders sent the Los Angeles Chargers home for the season.

Now they’ll take on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium in what may be Roethlisberger’s last game in the NFL. Of course, the Chiefs are huge favorites, but rookie running back Najee Harris gave a candid assessment of the underdogs on Sunday.

Najee Harris isn’t interested in hearing about the underdogs before the game.

Talk about having a winning mindset. Harris did, after all, play collegiate basketball at the University of Alabama.

Despite this, Harris didn’t hide his actual views about being underdogs coming into the game. It makes no difference, and if the NFL season is any indicator, anything may happen at any time.

Who can forget how this same Pittsburgh squad tied the then-winless Detroit Lions in a game?

The playoffs are unique in that everyone begins at a 0-0 tie. It’s win or go home, regardless of the season’s outcomes. Although the game will be difficult for Roethlisberger, Harris, and the Steelers, the rookie’s words demonstrate why he is the ideal building piece for Mike Tomlin’s club.

Going into the game, Ben Roethlisberger had different ideas.

On the surface, Roethlisberger’s remarks seem to be troubling. But reconsider.

Yes, the veteran is well aware of the dangers that this Chiefs squad poses. Sure, he understands that this is most likely the end of his NFL career.

Roethlisberger, on the other hand, wants to forget about the pressure and all of those ideas and just “have fun.”

Who can blame him, after all? After such a lengthy career — all of it in Pittsburgh, no less — #7 will focus on savoring every moment.

Pittsburgh needed a lot of assistance to even make the playoffs, and who’s to say the journey finishes in Kansas City?

Set aside all distractions, put on your helmet and shoulder pads, and attempt to pull off a major upset against Mahomes and the Chiefs.

Against the Chiefs, the Steelers will have their job cut out for them, but Najee Harris can cause them a headache.

The Steelers will have to deal with Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce a lot. Mahomes, on the other hand, is a different matter, and the good news for Pittsburgh is that Clyde Edwards-Helaire will not be in the lineup.

Kansas City has the firepower, and they’re attempting to win their third Super Bowl in a row.

The Steelers, on the other hand, have their own monsters on the roster. T.J. Watt is a defensive wrecking ball who is looking to expand on his Defensive Player of the Year performance.

Chase Claypool and Diontae Johnson are strong guards, while Harris has had an outstanding rookie season. He can do it all, and he’s eager to shine on the big stage, which he’s used to since his college days.

Forget about the underdogs and the drama surrounding Roethlisberger’s possible farewell game.

The postseason has arrived.
