The Seattle Seahawks are a gifted football team, and so is Russell Wilson. The quarterback’s passion for cooking has blossomed into a new career for Wilson: he’s taken up the chef’s role in the Hawks’ new high-octane offensive system. Wilson has been a longtime player in his community, and now he’s using his platform to help others.

Every year, the Seahawks seem to make a goal of cooking even more than they usually do. After all, one of the many reasons Seattle became a favorite to win Super Bowl XLVIII last season was being a team that cooks together. Of course, cooking isn’t a science, and everyone’s method of cooking might be a little different. As Russell Wilson wrote on his blog, he’s experimenting with new food options this year in hopes of maximizing performance.

Russell Wilson’s new offense, the Seahawks’ 2016 offense, is a unique approach to the art of quarterbacking, and it’s all Matt Flynn.  It’s Wilson’s offense, and while it’s worth arguing which of his traits are most responsible for Seattle’s success, it’s clear that Wilson is a catalyst for much of it. It’s also clear that he’s investing heavily in his craft.

If the Seattle Seahawks hope to win a second Super Bowl in the Russell Wilson era, the team needs its star quarterback to cook. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll understood this as well as anyone and hired Rams passing game coordinator Shane Waldron as the new offensive coordinator for the 2021 season. Wilson, an eight-time Pro Bowl winner, has already sent Waldron a message of support.

Former Seahawks offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer has faced criticism for trying to make the running game work despite Wilson’s best season in the NFL. After a surprising home loss against the rival Rams in the playoff finals, Seattle said goodbye to Schottenheimer and hired Rams assistant coach Shane Waldron to replace him. Waldron’s first results are already in, and his new defender is already impressed with what he’s seen so far. According to ProFootballTalk, Wilson expressed his excitement about playing in a new, super-complex offense. I think we have a lot of good stuff. We will be able to mix a lot of characters, a lot of different people, using the whole field. I guess we can do whatever we want. Russell Wilson Wilson added that he thinks Waldron has an excellent understanding of the game. The fact that we’re together will be very interesting, Wilson told reporters.

Waldron and the Seahawks have to allow Russ Cook

Much earlier in Wilson’s career, Pete Carroll and the Seahawks won games with their running game and defense. Marshawn Lynch acted as a cash cow and the Legion of Boom, led by Richard Sherman, stopped the opponents in their tracks. Although Wilson was already one of the most talented young quarterbacks in the league at the time, he and the Seahawks achieved success because they played to his strengths. At that point, he was acting like an effective playmaker, avoiding turnovers and scrambling for extra yardage. Now the Seahawks need to capitalize on Wilson’s strengths in a different way. He is a proven elite quarterback with two dangerous receivers in D.K. Metcalfe and Tyler Lockett. Wilson had a fantastic season, as the two combined for 183 catches, 1,357 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2020. As easy as it is to forget, the Seahawks’ offense averaged 28.7 points per game, eighth in the league. So what went wrong? Wilson averaged 37.1 attempts and 317.6 yards per game in the first half of the season, but those numbers dropped to 32.6 and 208.9 in the final eight games of the regular season. He completed 11 of 27 passes for 174 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the Rams’ loss in the wild-card round. If the Seahawks want to win games, they’d best build a game around Wilson and where he is in his career. In games and situations where the best option would be to let Wilson throw instead of trying to make the ground game work, the Seahawks have to let Wilson cook, as they say.

Seahawks must make the most of 2021 season

The NFL offseason is going fast, and it seems like just yesterday that Wilson’s name popped up on the trade market. Wilson and the Seahawks are committed to each other, at least for now, and a good showing in 2021 will go a long way. Of course, the best case scenario for both sides would be for the team to win its first Super Bowl since February 2014. As long as Wilson is the quarterback, the Seahawks will always have a chance to hold up the Lombardi Trophy. He went from a solid playmaker to a quarterback who may have done enough to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Wilson has been around the league long enough to know that every team in the offseason thinks they have a chance to do something special. If he and his teammates can put together this super-sophisticated offense, the idea of a Super Bowl parade in Seattle next February doesn’t seem unrealistic. Like Sportscasting on Facebook. COMPARED TO: Russell Wilson’s three words take the fear out of Seahawks fansThe Seahawks’ new offense looks like a harbinger of change in the NFL, and the offense is all about unit cohesion. That’s because Seattle is no longer employing the three-down offense. Instead, they’re playing a different game: the four-down offense. Yes, that’s right, the Seahawks have abandoned the down and distance system for a system that requires four players to stay in the game at all times..
