David Tepper has made it clear that he has no interest in relocating the Panthers franchise from their current home in Charlotte. However, should he pull the trigger on a move, he will have the option of moving the team to one of three new stadiums being built in the Carolinas.
The Carolina Panthers are one of the most successful franchises in recent sports history, having won two Super Bowls in the last decade. The organization is currently looking for a new owner to replace David Tepper, who is ready to retire from the NFL. He is reportedly interested in moving the franchise to Charlotte, as the city has put together a new sports stadium and he would be interested in helping that city to become a hotspot for NFL franchises.
The Carolina Panthers are a professional football team that is located in the state of South Carolina and whose home stadium is Bank of America Stadium which is located in uptown Charlotte, North Carolina. In early April of this year, David Tepper, the owner of the team, was in talks with potential partners to sell the team. This sparked a flurry of speculation that Tepper might be looking to move the Panthers.
Don’t look now, but the Carolina Panthers could move in the next few years. Panthers owner David Tepper wants a new stadium, and he made it clear in June 2021 that he has no intention of buying one. He wants the community to want it, which means he wants them to pay for it. Anyone who has been involved in the sport long enough knows that it is often these types of battles that lead to change. If Tepper moves the Panthers, what cities seem like the best options? Taking into account location, geography and areas that don’t already have an NFL team (sorry, Houston fans who want to see a team other than the Texans), the top contenders are ranked as follows:5. Orlando, Florida

Orlando, however, is a successful city that has rallied behind the UCF Knights in recent years. When the AAF had its only season in 2019, the Apollos were named the honorary champions. Florida’s role as an income tax-free state has always attracted players, and that could help them to some extent when choosing an NFL team. But if the Jaguars don’t move in the next few years, Florida might not get a new NFL franchise.
4. St. Louis
The Rams have left St. Louis. The St. Louis Rams are headed to Los Angeles after the 2015 season, and the gateway to the West is hungry for a new NFL franchise. Fans flooded the America’s Center Dome in support of a 2020 XFL BattleHawks team before a coronavirus pandemic brought an untimely end to the league’s season. While it makes more sense for the Panthers to stay in the south, St. John’s is not the place to be. Louis should not be considered a potential candidate. The BattleHawks lead the XFL in attendance, which clearly shows that local fans are eager to have a football team in the region again.
3. San Antonio
Can the Carolina Panthers move to San Antonio? The Alamodome hosted Joe Horn and the New Orleans Saints for several games in 2005. If or when the NFL expands, fans should expect San Antonio to be one of the contenders. But if the Panthers want to make a move, why wouldn’t Alamo City be a candidate? Texas is a great geographical location for the NFC South, and San Antonio has hosted NFL games. The Saints played three games at the Alamodome in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina. When the Panthers play at the Alamodome, they should expect a better performance than the Saints, who have lost two of three.
2. Oklahoma City/Tulsa, Oklahoma
Can the Carolina Panthers move to another city? If that’s the case, then Oklahoma City makes sense. We’ve listed Oklahoma CityandTulsa here, so let us explain. If the Panthers feel that Tulsa suits them better than Oklahoma City, they can move there and continue to call themselves the Oklahoma Panthers or the Oklahoma City Panthers. If you think that’s unrealistic, consider the New York Giants and Jets. They play in East Rutherford, New Jersey, but are still called the New York teams. Oklahoma County, like San Antonio, will be eligible if the NFL considers going to 33 or 34 teams.
