The Cowboys offense was great, but the defense couldn’t stop all the turnovers and gave up a lot of big plays. The 49ers did what they had to do in order to win even if it wasn’t pretty.

The “Mike McCarthy” is a coach for the Dallas Cowboys. He did not hold back when it came to his opinion about the players’ performance. Read more in detail here: mike mccarthy.

Mike McCarthy Blames 'Nervous' Cowboys Players for Their Sloppy Wild Card Round Performance Against the 49ers

The Dallas Cowboys have a history of underachieving in the playoffs. It’s something they’re known for. This year, though, was different. They won 12 games, played at home, had a Super Bowl-winning head coach in Mike McCarthy, and had one of the top offenses in the league on their roster.

During the Wild Card Round, Dallas was also up against the San Francisco 49ers, a team that most pundits thought it could defeat.

Obviously, the Cowboys did not live up to the anticipation, and they were forced to vacate the playoffs early for the second year in a row. Since then, blame has been thrown in all ways in an effort to determine who was to blame.

The Cowboys were defeated last weekend for a variety of reasons. They got off to a poor start, struggled to consistently deliver the ball to WR CeeDee Lamb, and so on. Head coach Mike McCarthy, on the other hand, is at the center of Cowboys supporters’ dissatisfaction.

With 14 seconds left in the fourth quarter and no timeouts, the long-time Green Bay Packers quarterback signaled a quarterback draw. After quarterback Dak Prescott slipped and failed to deliver the ball to the official, the game time ran out. The Cowboys were defeated 23-17, despite never attempting to tie the game with a field goal attempt.

The quarterback draw’s origins are still unknown. McCarthy, on the other hand, is the head coach and is ultimately in control of making key choices. With the season on the line, the Cowboys didn’t employ him to stand by while their offensive coordinator devises contentious play ideas.

Mike McCarthy has a long list of reasons for the Cowboys’ defeat.

McCarthy has been making excuse after excuse since the post-game inquiries started after the Cowboys’ humiliating home defeat. First, he criticized the official for failing to locate the ball soon enough on the last QB draw, despite Prescott’s failure to transfer the ball to him after slipping. McCarthy is now blaming his players for their pre-game nerves.

“I thought we were nervous to start the game,” said McCarthy via The Dallas Morning News. “I felt it in the locker room at the team prayer … Let me take the word ‘nervous’ back. It was a little angst … I just think it was the first time we were doing this as a whole.”

McCarthy, however, cannot simply “take back” the term nervous. The harm has already been done. He expressed his honest opinions regarding how his team psychologically prepared for the playoff game.

What are the Cowboys’ options now?

McCarthy should be fired as head coach of the Cowboys.

Out of a 13-year pairing of Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers, Mike McCarthy only earned one Superbowl participation. Now he can’t get the Cowboys’ top offense to win a playoff game at home.

The irony is that McCarthy was recruited by Dallas to be a soothing influence in the locker room. The team was looking for someone who had already gone there and done that. McCarthy, instead of accepting responsibility for his team’s lack of preparedness, blames everyone else around him.

This isn’t ideal.

Should McCarthy be fired by the Cowboys? Probably. Will they succeed? Most likely not. Instead, Dallas is likely to be stuck with McCarthy and his never-ending finger-pointing for at least another season.
