The sports gaming community saw another major step in the digital transformation of the industry when MLB announced that it would be making its in-game digital products available via the Playstation Network in the coming months. The announcement was made by MLB’s principal owner, the Walt Disney Company.

Since its announcement at Gamescom 2021, Marvel’s Midnight Suns has gotten a lot of attention. Firaxis games have a habit of doing this, particularly when paired with such a well-known brand. However, the game’s fighting system, particularly the battle cards used for attacks and abilities, has garnered some notice.
Players may team up with two other Marvel characters, preferably those with whom they’ve developed strong bonds and who offer the greatest combat synergies, to fight with their character, The Hunter. After that, they’re given a hand of six random ability cards with which to combat Lilith’s troops.
Firaxis revealed fresh details on those features in a recent gameplay video and deep dive, but they did not explain how players acquire the cards. Some fans wondered whether cards will be trapped in loot boxes or other microtransactions as a result of this.
Thankfully, this will not be the case. There will be no loot boxes or pay-to-win microtransactions, according to the official Midnight Suns Twitter account. Microtransactions for cosmetics will, nevertheless, exist, but the specifics are still unclear.

Fans may breathe a sigh of relief that Midnight Suns will be free of treasure boxes, but there’s still a lot we don’t know about the tactical RPG, so stay tuned. Firaxis has announced a new gameplay reveal on September 7 at 11:30 a.m. PDT, in which The Hunter and Wolverine will face off against Sabretooth.
