LeBron James passed Michael Jordan in another old man NBA history stat, proving Father Time has nothing on him.
In his 16th season of playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers and after 15 seasons, LeBron is now leading all-time scoring with 10022 points to Jordan’s 9923 points.
The accomplishment came during a game against the Philadelphia 76ers where he scored 41 points along side teammate J.R Smith who notched 38 as well.
The “when did lebron pass jordan in assists” is the question that has been asked for a while now. LeBron James just passed Michael Jordan in another NBA history stat, proving father time has nothing on him.
LeBron James did not hit the 30-point mark in the Los Angeles Lakers’ victory against the Minnesota Timberwolves on January 2, the first time he hasn’t done so since December 17. Despite this, he created NBA history by passing Michael Jordan in a unique statistic.
On December 30, LeBron turned 37 years old. He’s in his 19th NBA season and has logged a lot of miles after appearing in ten NBA Finals. The Lakers forward, on the other hand, is still putting up MVP statistics and playing like the greatest player in the game, demonstrating that old age has no effect on him.
For a 37-year-old, LeBron James is putting up incredible statistics.

LeBron James has played in 1,336 regular-season games and 266 postseason games throughout his career. He’s not just 37, but he’s also still suffering from abdominal discomfort. If you didn’t know any of these things about LeBron, you’d believe he was in his twenties based on how he’s playing this season.
LeBron James has averaging 28.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 6.6 assists in 26 games this season, shooting 52.3 percent from the field, 37.4 percent from beyond the arc, and 77.2 percent from the free-throw line. He has the most 30-point performances in the NBA and has a higher points per game average than he has had since 2009-10, when he averaged 29.7 points per night between the age of 24 and 25.
If the Lakers had a better record, LeBron would surely be a contender for MVP. Los Angeles is currently in seventh place in the Western Conference rankings with a record of 19-19. If the playoffs began today, LeBron and his teammates would be in the play-in round.
While it’s been difficult for Lakers fans to see the team struggle, LeBron’s superstar play has been entertaining to watch, as he continues to defy father time and overtake Jordan — his boyhood hero — in old men’s statistics.
LeBron James shattered Michael Jordan’s record for most consecutive wins.
Last night, LeBron James said:
26 PTS, 7 REB, 5 AST, and 3 STL
It was James’ ninth consecutive game with at least 25 points, breaking a tie with Michael Jordan for the longest such run by a player aged 36 or older in NBA history. pic.twitter.com/zmokw91zoS

Against the Timberwolves, LeBron scored 26 points. It was LBJ’s ninth consecutive game with at least 25 points, breaking a tie with Michael Jordan for the longest such run by a player aged 36 or older in NBA history.
Jordan scored over 25 points seven times in a row for the Washington Wizards during the 2001-02 season, despite being 38 years old. During that time, the Chicago Bulls great averaged 32.3 points per game. In 2018-19, LeBron surpassed Jordan as the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, averaging 34.8 points per game over his past eight games.
The two most efficient players in NBA history are LeBron James and Michael Jordan. In terms of player efficiency rating, the latter is first all-time, while the former is second. Jordan’s career average of 30.1 points per game is the highest in NBA history. LeBron James is the sixth best player in NBA history (27.0).
For a guy 36 or older, LeBron James is enjoying his finest scoring season. Jordan played some of his best basketball with the Wizards when he was 38, 39, and 40 years old. Washington, on the other hand, not only missed the playoffs in 2002 and 2003, but Jordan was also ineffective.
Despite the fact that he is 37 years old and in his 19th season, LeBron is still one of the most efficient players in the NBA.
This season, The King is ranked sixth in PER.

LeBron is now the NBA’s fourth-oldest player. The only players older than Udonis Haslem, Andre Iguodala, and Carmelo Anthony are Udonis Haslem, Andre Iguodala, and Carmelo Anthony. The Chosen One, on the other hand, is still generating like a child. LeBron James is sixth in the NBA in terms of PER and second in terms of points per game. When you consider how many games and minutes the eventual Hall of Famer has played, that’s incredible.
Jordan’s PER in 2001-02 was 20.7, while in 2002-03 it was 19.3. LeBron has a current PER of 26.9. His lifespan is incredible. This season, no 37-year-old has looked as powerful as LeBron James. Jordan aficionados, who despise the King because they think Black Jesus is the undeniable GOAT, should recognize LeBron’s brilliance since we will likely never see another player like him again.
Despite overtaking Jordan on the all-time scoring record, LeBron is still chasing the ghost of Jordan. The 17-time All-Star will fall short of Captain Marvel in terms of scoring crowns, but he can equal the Bulls legend with one regular-season MVP, two championships, and two Finals MVPs.
With that in mind, it will be fascinating to watch whether LeBron can equal Jordan’s record. He’s already shown that he’s outlived him. To sit next to his idol, he now needs two more rings.
