The U.S. men’s basketball team has a lot of hype surrounding it, and rightfully so. The team is loaded with talent, and it has a lot to prove after getting knocked out of the FIBA World Championship by Greece. For many, this is their first chance to see Kevin Durant play.

Less than half a decade ago, Kevin Durant was the best basketball player in the world. He was the first overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, and he was already playing like a superstar. Then, in just a few years, he went from being the best player in the league to one of its most hated.. Read more about 2021 us olympic basketball team and let us know what you think.

It just takes a quick look at the USA Basketball team for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics to determine who the best player is. There are several excellent players on the squad, but Kevin Durant sticks out. However, a current Squad USA assistant coach claims that calling Durant the team leader is inaccurate. Instead, Draymond Green, Durant’s former Golden State Warriors colleague, will fill that position.

Early in its exhibition series, USA Basketball suffered some bumps, losing to Nigeria and Australia to begin their pre-Olympics warmups. With a rout of Argentina and a hard-fought victory against Spain, the current FIBA Basketball World Cup winners, they were able to right the ship. Kevin Durant and Draymond Green have a tumultuous history in the Bay Area, but it is a history that includes two NBA championships.

Draymond Green and Kevin Durant looked a lot like brothers.

Anyone who has ever dealt with a competing sibling will understand the relationship between Draymond Green and Kevin Durant. It’s the kind of relationship where you adore the man yet despise him at the same time.

Green and Durant, for example, had many extremely public disputes during games. A confrontation between the two occurred after the fourth-quarter buzzer in a November 2018 game. Durant wanted possession of the ball for the last shot. Green ignored him, and the ball was ultimately lost. The game was decided in overtime, and the Warriors were defeated. According to reports, the altercation continued after the game inside the locker room.

Green received a one-game ban from the club as a result of the incident, but many believe the set-to was the catalyst for Durant’s free-agent exit the following summer. Durant, on the other hand, has never verified or denied that notion. That didn’t stop it from getting a lot of traction, however.

The Kevin Durant-Draymond Green dynamic in Tokyo will be fascinating to watch now that the former teammates and adversaries have reunited.

Draymond Green, according to Warriors coach Kerr, Steve, has emerged as Team USA’s leader. g

Kerr, Steve, the coach of the Golden State Warriors, is assisting USA Basketball head coach Gregg Popovich in his first Olympics. Kerr, on the other hand, was on the bench when Team USA finished eighth in the FIBA Basketball World Cup in China two years ago.

Kevin Durant and Draymond Green, on the other hand, have already worked together in the Olympics. Both were members of the 2016 Olympic gold-medal-winning team in Rio de Janeiro. Durant is vying for his fourth Olympic gold medal, having previously won gold with the USA Basketball team in 2008 and 2012.

According to KGO-TV in San Francisco, Kerr enjoys watching Green and Durant play together again.

“It’s been fantastic to be back together and see Kevin practice, and Draymond has been outstanding. We have a good feeling about going into Tokyo with a lot of momentum.”

In response to the issue of Green’s leadership, Kerr seemed unfazed.

“He is our commander-in-chief. During timeouts, he’s the one who talks to everyone in the huddle, and he’s the one who brings everyone in. Draymond is in the best mental shape of his life. He’s overjoyed to be here, and he’s having a great time.”

Kevin Durant and Draymond Green, two brilliant former colleagues, entered the NBA from separate ways. This may exacerbate some of the conflict.

Kevin Durant was destined to be a superstar from the start.

Kevin Durant, who just completed his 13th NBA season, will be 33 in September. Draymond Green, on the other hand, recently completed his eighth season in the NBA and turned 31 in March. Durant’s career does not include the 2019–20 season, which he missed due to an Achilles rupture.

As a senior at Michigan State, Green was a standout performer. Five years ago, Durant became the first freshman in history to earn consensus national player of the year honors at Texas. When he entered the NBA draft in 2007, Durant was the No. 2 overall selection. In 2012, Green finished sixth in the second round and 35th overall.

Durant became an NBA star almost immediately, winning Rookie of the Year honors in 2007–08. He won the first of his four scoring titles two years later. Green averaged 2.9 points and 3.3 rebounds in 13.4 minutes a game as a rookie with the Warriors, and he didn’t become a full-time starter until his third season.

Both players are eager to win and have a strong desire to do so. However, coming from such disparate basketball backgrounds, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green must find it tough to view things in the same light.
