Stephen Curry is a basketball player who plays for the Golden State Warriors. He led his team to an NBA championship in 2015 and again in 2017, but he has been snubbed by the media as far too many feel that Kevin Durant should have taken home last year’s MVP award. The struggle between these two players is one of the most divisive issues in sports today, but it would be an absolute travesty if Stephen Curry did not win this season’s MVP title.

Steph Curry is putting up impressive numbers and helping the Golden State Warriors to another NBA title. There’s no guarantee that his all-time season will continue, but he looks to be a certainty to win the 2021-22 MVP Award at this point.
It would be a complete and absolute shame if he didn’t win his third Maurice Podoloff Trophy if he continues playing as he has through the Warriors’ first 25 games.

Curry’s 2015-16 season will go down in history. Steph had already established himself as an NBA superstar, but that season catapulted him to new heights. In terms of the manner he shot the ball and where he shot it from, it was a game-changer.
That season, Golden State set an NBA record by winning 73 games, and Chef Curry earned his second MVP award. He averaged 30.1 points, 6.7 assists, and 5.4 rebounds in 79 games.
He made 50.4 percent of his shots from the field and 45.4 percent of his three-point attempts. It was a 50/45/90 season, including his 90.8 percent shooting from the line.
Curry, as described by fellow Warriors guard Shaun Livingston in an article by The Athletic:
“I just remember having the sensation — I’d been in the league for about a year and a half, and I’d seen Kobe (Bryant), Dirk (Nowitzki), Gilbert (Arenas), and how players go off, and it was, yooooooo… I recall having that sensation and being in that state. It felt like when Kobe Bryant goes for 20 in a row and does it game after game.”
Surprisingly, this year has been even more spectacular.
In 2021-22, the future Hall of Famer was even more useful, and he deserved to earn his third MVP award.
This year, Steph has already broken and established several records (some of which were his own).
The Warriors, although not having a 73-win season, have the best record in the NBA with a 21-4 record. The Davidson product averages 27.5 points per game on 43.9 percent shooting from the field and 41.3 percent from beyond the arc.
But the numbers don’t lie: Steph averaged 11.2 three-pointers a game in 2015-16 and is up to 13.3 this season. In 2015-16, he tried 886 times and has 320 through 25 games.
More threes are being taken — and made.
He’s on track to beat his personal season record of 450 triples. Not to mention the fact that he’s going to set a new career high for threes made.
In a game against Cleveland earlier this year, he hit nine 3-pointers for the 38th time. In his career, no other player has done it more than ten times.
He’s also a lot better on the defensive end this season than he was in 2015-16. In another post for The Athletic, Draymond Green said:
“Teams will attempt to post him up, but he’s much too f****** powerful at this point.” They are no longer able to publish him. Laterally, he’s grown a lot faster. Most critically, he no longer reaches every play. As a result of his development on that side of the ball (is significant).
“However, no one mentions that since he’s been so good offensively.” On that side of the ball, his development has been phenomenal.”
Steph Curry is breaking offensive records and playing his greatest defense of his Hall of Fame career. Lock in the award unless there’s an injury or an all-time low.
It’s about more than Steph’s numbers as he leads Golden State to another NBA title.

Yes, Curry is putting up eye-popping numbers. He is, however, guiding the Warriors to victory.
Golden State leads the Western Conference by a half-game over the Phoenix Suns. On Dec. 3, just three days after the Suns seemed to have taken control of the conference, the team exacted vengeance with a 118-96 victory.
Steph has been the best player on the greatest squad in the league for the first two months of the season. He’s breaking NBA single-season and all-time records. He’s playing some of his greatest defense of his career right now.
