A few days ago an article was published on the ESPN website by a former Patriots quarterback that was highly critical of Tom Brady and his legacy and accomplishments. The article would then go on to criticize Tom Brady’s backup, Jimmy Garappolo, and his accomplishments in New England while praising Jimmy Garappolo. The article focused primarily on how Garappolo has similar talent to Brady but has not been able to achieve the same level of success.
This is another non-sports article from a non-sports blog. It’s also another article about Tom Brady. I have to admit that I have a secret admiration for Brady. He’s a smart guy who won a ton of Super Bowls and virtually no one is talking about it. I think there’s something to be said for that.

For years, the NFL GOAT argument was one of the most heated in sports, but Tom Brady has put an end to it in recent seasons. Over the course of two decades, his ability to win titles has cemented his claim to the throne.
A former Pro Bowler who is now a TV celebrity, on the other hand, does not think TB12 is the best quarterback of all time.
Marcellus Wiley is a former athlete who thinks Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback to ever play in the NFL.

Fans and analysts who doubt Tom Brady’s status as the GOAT quarterback should examine his early seasons.
In his first four seasons as the New England Patriots’ starting quarterback, he won three Super Bowls, but he didn’t put up huge statistics. In reality, in each of those seasons, Brady failed to surpass 3,800 passing yards and threw 12 or more interceptions.
However, in the last decade or so, he has put up tremendous statistics almost every year, and the Michigan native has won four more Super Bowls while also participating in three others. Brady’s teams are consistently among the top in the NFL, as he has been in 14 conference title games over the course of his career.
His longevity, though, has aided his case for the greatest quarterback award the most, since he just won a Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the age of 43. Brady’s 21 NFL seasons — and shortly to be 22 — have propelled him reach the top of almost every major passing statistic.
Some people still think Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback to ever play because of how terrific he was when he was at his peak.

Marcellus Wiley was a defensive end with the San Diego Chargers for ten years and was named to the Pro Bowl in 2010, when he had 13 total sacks and five forced fumbles. He has, nevertheless, become a famous TV personality since his last season in 2006.
Wiley went on FS1’s Speak For Yourself recently and shared his thoughts on Tom Brady and Peyton Manning.
“I usually say Tom Brady is the GOAT because I don’t want to debate, but Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback of all time in my opinion. Wiley stated on the Aug. 9 show, “It’s not even a discussion for me.” “I had the opportunity to play against both of them, and it is just my view. But, in order to preserve my voice and avoid staying in the barbershop all night, I simply go with the flow and say, Tom Brady.”
Wiley then said that he understood Brady’s case. But he also gets angry when people refuse to even mention Manning, who has won Super Bowls with both the Indianapolis Colts and the Denver Broncos.
“Peyton Manning has many titles; Aaron Rodgers has not, yet he is in the discussion for GOAT, but Peyton Manning isn’t?” he stated “Peyton Manning has [five] MVP awards under his belt. In the history of the NFL, anyone else had five MVPs? “Not a single person.”
“So, if you mix the two, a player with more MVPs than anybody else has numerous championships [with] various franchises,” Wiley said. Why isn’t he mentioned in the GOAT debate? I understand if you don’t want to declare him the GOAT because you don’t want to spend the whole night in the barbershop. But Peyton Manning is the greatest quarterback I’ve ever faced on the field.”
Peyton Manning’s case for being the greatest quarterback of all time over Tom Brady
When supporters claim that Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback of all time, they point to his seven titles, compared to Peyton Manning’s two. Some argue that the debate ends there. Brady, on the other hand, has overtaken Manning in terms of career passing touchdowns and yards, ranking first with 581 and second with 79,204 yards, respectively.
Manning, on the other hand, was unbeatable when he was at his best.
Manning has won more MVPs (five) than any other player in NFL history, according to Wiley. He also has the season passing yardage (5,477), passing touchdowns (55), and passing yards per game marks (342.3).
Wiley isn’t the only one who believes he’s the greatest quarterback of all time.
Pro Football Reference offers a Hall of Fame Monitor, which is a measure that considers players’ estimated values, the number of Pro Bowl and All-Pro choices, championships, and other statistics to assess their odds of being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Manning leads the quarterback rankings with a score of 257.7, while Brady is second with a score of 252.34.
But, at this point, the majority of the public thinks Brady is the GOAT; it will be difficult for Manning to persuade them otherwise, particularly now that he is gone. In any case, they were two of the best quarterbacks to ever throw a football. Many of us should consider ourselves fortunate to have seen them in their prime.
