The Green Bay Packers have been playing on Christmas Day since the NFL’s inception. The team celebrated with a 28-7 win over the Detroit Lions, marking their first victory of 2018.
The “browns packers christmas day tickets” is a question that has been asked many times. The Green Bay Packers have never played on Christmas Day before, but the Cleveland Browns did in 2015.
The Green Bay Packers are come to guarantee that the merry Christmas Day atmosphere of Cleveland Browns supporters does not last the whole holiday season.
In Week 16, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers, fresh off winning the NFC North for the third year in a row, will face Baker Mayfield and the Browns. Despite the fact that the Browns have been in various incarnations since 1946, Saturday will be their first game.
The Packers, who have won four Super Bowls, are no strangers to playing after receiving their presents.

The Packers have been been since 1919, but it wasn’t until 2005 that they played on Christmas Day. The NFL did all it could to avoid games on December 25, even if it meant moving the NFL Championship Game to Monday, December 26 in years when the pre-Super Bowl event would have taken place on a Sunday.
When the schedule allowed, the NFL eventually compromised and started playing one or two games on Christmas Day. Back in 2005, Brett Favre threw four interceptions in a 24-17 home defeat to the rival Chicago Bears. In 34-degree cold, about 70,000 spectators packed Lambeau Field for a rare 5:11 p.m. start.
The two teams played again at Lambeau Field six years later. The Packers had little problem overcoming their rivals this time, thanks to Rodgers’ leadership. On Sunday Night Football, Rodgers, who earned his first NFL MVP Award that season, scored five touchdowns in a 35-21 win against the Bears.
Jordy Nelson, a fourth-year receiver, with six receptions for 115 yards and two scores that night. Another two touchdowns were added by James Jones, a strong rotating receiver.
That was the last time either club played on Christmas Day… at least until the Packers take the field on Saturday afternoon.
Which clubs have played the most games on Christmas Day in the NFL?
From 1989 until 2020, only 20 of the NFL’s 32 teams played on Christmas, but that number should rise to 22 this year. The Browns and the Indianapolis Colts, who meet the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday night, will play for the first time on Dec. 25 unless COVID-19 is postponed.
The Dallas Cowboys lead all NFL teams with five Christmas Day games, which may come as no surprise to football fans. If the 1971 NFL Playoffs are included, they lead all teams. On Dec. 25, the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Minnesota Vikings, 20-12, in the Divisional Playoffs, becoming the first team to win an NFL game.
With the exception of the 1971 playoffs, the Cowboys and the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans have each played on Christmas four times; Dallas is 1-3, with its sole win coming against the Cardinals in 1995, while Tennessee is 2-2.
Arizona and Green Bay will be the only teams to play three regular-season Christmas Day games, joining the Denver Broncos (2-1) and Minnesota Vikings (1-2).
Even after winning the NFC North, the Packers still have a lot to play for on Saturday.
On Sunday, Dec. 19, Green Bay officially secured the NFC North with a dramatic 31-30 win against Tyler Huntley and the Baltimore Ravens, giving Packers fans an early Christmas present. The Packers may theoretically rest their starters for the remainder of the season since they’ll have home-field advantage in the NFC Wild-Card Round.
The Packers, on the other hand, have no need to adopt that strategy. In an era where only one club receives a Wild-Card Round bye, Green Bay began Week 15 as the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Last season, the days of a No. 2 seed watching the first round from home came to an end.
Although the Packers will not be able to secure the No. 1 seed in Week 16, a victory against the Browns would go a long way toward earning home-field advantage. Unless, of course, Mayfield takes his Grinch persona on the road.
