Curry, Stephen has never won the NBA Finals MVP title, despite earning back-to-back league MVP trophies in 2015 and 2016.

Andre Iguodala, who won the honor during Golden State’s first championship run in 2015, was the team’s most divisive recipient. Iguodala got the award largely for his defense of LeBron James. Despite the Warriors’ six-game victory against James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron averaged 35.8 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 8.8 assists.

Kevin Durant won it in each of the Warriors’ last two titles. In 2017 and 2018, Golden State defeated the Cavaliers 4-1 and 4-0, respectively.

Here are Iguodala’s and Durant’s average stats from each year, as well as how they compare to Curry’s.

NBA Finals 2015

Iguodala, Andre (Finals MVP) 16.3 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game, and 4.0 assists per game
Curry, Stephen 26.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists are all career highs for him.

NBA Finals 2017

Kevin Durant is a basketball player who plays in the NBA (Finals MVP) 35.2 points per game, 8.2 rebounds per game, and 5.4 assists per game
Curry, Stephen 9.4 assists, 26.8 points, and 8.0 rebounds

NBA Finals 2018

Kevin Durant is a basketball player who plays in the NBA (Finals MVP) 7.5 assists, 10.8 rebounds, and 28.8 points
Curry, Stephen 27.5 points, 6.8 assists, and 6.0 rebounds

Curry had a strong case in 2015, and his numbers improved in 2017 and 2018. Kevin Durant, on the other hand, absolutely earned the prize in the last two series.

Curry, Stephen has still recorded great Finals numbers

Just because he hasn’t won a Finals MVP doesn’t mean Curry, Stephen has been trash during the Warriors’ title runs.

As previously said, he has put up impressive statistics in the final round.

Even in defeats, this has been the case. Curry averaged 26.5 points, 6.2 assists, and 5.7 rebounds in 28 NBA Finals games previous to the 2022 NBA Finals, according to StatMuse.

In a Game 3 defeat to the Toronto Raptors in 2019, he had his finest game, scoring 47 points, grabbing eight rebounds, and dishing out seven assists. He also hit six of his fourteen three-point shots.

Curry, Stephen may not have a Finals MVP just yet, but he has had some legendary performances during the Warriors’ dynasty run. He is an all-time great player.
