Microsoft’s Xbox One games console is using more power than it needs to when playing some versions of the Halo franchise, causing slow performance and inefficiency. The solution? Turn off async compute in Halo Infinite

The “async compute halo infinite” is a feature in Halo Infinite that allows players to turn it off.

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer has officially debuted on all platforms, and the game has already surpassed 100,000 players on PC. Of course, there are a few faults with the game, as with every huge launch. Some gamers have reported that the game crashes often at launch, and one of the causes might be Async Compute, or Asynchronous Compute. Here’s how to disable the functionality.

Halo Infinite: Disabling Async

Async Compute is a technology that enables GPUs based on AMD’s GCN to simultaneously execute graphics and compute operations. It can improve performance in certain circumstances, but in this case, you’ll want to turn it off. The steps you’ll need to take are listed below.

  • To access the Control Panel, press F1.
  • Go to the Video tab in the Settings menu.
  • Scroll to the bottom of the page until you find Async Compute.
  • To turn off the functionality, make sure the box is unchecked.

When you choose Async Compute, your VRAM utilization will appear on the right side of the screen, along with a bar for the optimal and maximum use. Your utilization should be within the recommended range, so turn it off and check if anything changes if necessary. Keep in mind that you’ll need to leave and restart the game to ensure that the update is completely implemented.

If this does not resolve your issue, make sure all of your drivers are up to date, and then uninstall and reinstall the game if nothing else works. Make sure to come back for more Halo Infinite assistance and guidance.

The “nvidia async compute” is a feature that allows users to turn off the Async Compute. This will help you get more performance out of your graphics card.
