After three Far Cry games, Ubisoft Montreal has now announced that they will be launching Far Cry 6 in 2018. Far Cry 5 was released in November of last year and, not long after, Ubisoft announced that a sequel was on the way. Also, after seeing the trailer, many of the main Far Cry elements were confirmed, including: animals, vehicles, guns, and the ability to customize weapons. At the end of the trailer we see a man standing up to a helicopter with a flamethrower, and the words “F.A.R.C.H.” written on the side. F.A.R.C.H. is an acronym for “Free Angela Reynolds, Hope”. Far Cry’s last entry was a solid shooter, with a story that was a bit lacking and a setting that felt a bit small. However, the campaign still managed to be a joy to play through, especially after you turned the game’s difficulty up to “insane”. Hell, the game still holds up today, especially when you go back to play through it on harder difficulties. That being said, the game has seen a number of delays and has yet to be fully released – so, all this talk of Far Cry 6 is kind of new.
As the Far Cry series enters its sixth entry, Ubisoft is hoping to keep up the franchise’s high quality. Far Cry 6 will reveal what happens next for the series’ protagonist, “Apocalypse”, and we’ll probably have a new villain as well.
Ubisoft’s highly anticipated gameFar Cry 6is officially scheduled for release on the 7th. October 2021 for PC and consoles. The date was announced during a live gameplay stream by Ubisoft. Of course, it wasn’t just the release date that was announced during the live broadcast. Fans were introduced to the world ofFar Cry 6, the game’s protagonist, Dani Rojas, and how players will adjust their arsenal and play style. It features game footage and several interludes with narration from various characters, such as Dany and Anton Castillo, the latter brought to life by Giancarlo Esposito’s sinister portrayal. Fans will also get a look at how creative they can get with the various weapons and methods to overthrow Anton’s tyrannical rule over Yara’s land. Anything can be made into an insane weapon, even one that shoots CDs at deadly speeds while playing family music for everyone to dance to. We don’t know much about Far Cry 6yet, but expect Ubisoft to reveal more details in the coming months before the game launches later this year.
