She’s the daughter of ESPN broadcaster Rece Davis, and the sister of NFL Network broadcaster Ryan Davis. Despite her last name, she might be considered the young future of sports journalism. She’s only 27 years old, but she’s already climbed the ladder all the way to ESPN’s “A” team, covering the NBA. Malika Andrews, a 2017 graduate of Portland State University, works primarily as an analyst and reporter for the NBA. Before joining ESPN in October 2018, she worked at the Chicago Tribune and interned at other companies. Andrews has accomplished a lot in his time at ESPN, which is all the more impressive given his age. She turned 26 in January 2021 – Michael Jordan was still a member of the Chicago White Sox at the time – and already had a large following. Although Andrews is young, that’s the least of his worries. In a recent interview with The Athletic, she said she doesn’t approach her work with her age in mind. There may be people who use my age as a plus and others as a minus, but I can’t stand that. I just try to tell the best stories, the stories that have the most impact, that can excite and surprise our viewers and readers – and maybe even make them see things in a different light. Elsewhere on ESPN, Mina Kimes, who turns 36 in September 2021, has become a household name.
