One of the benefits of being a member of the NFL is that you get to play in pro bowl games. There, players from all different teams compete against one another and earn their respective coaches’ respect for outstanding performances on the field. Loyalty means everything to these athletes, so when Jonathan Taylor was selected over Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady it put a major chip on his shoulder going into this season.

Jonathan Taylor, a running back for the Indianapolis Colts, had a fantastic second season in the NFL. On his way to earning his first Pro Bowl berth, the 23-year-old put up some impressive stats. Taylor is a long shot to win the Most Valuable Player Award, but the majority of his all-star teammates would choose him over Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady.
Perhaps the players have had enough of quarterbacks winning the honor almost every year.

With the Indianapolis Colts missing the playoffs, it seemed that the NFL’s Most Valuable Player Award would be decided by a two-man battle. However, others argue that a third player, running back Jonathan Taylor, should be considered.
The Athletic conducted an anonymous poll of 20 players from both offense and defense who will compete in the 2022 Pro Bowl. The offensive and defensive MVPs for the 2021 season were chosen by the players.
Taylor received eight votes for the offense and won handily. There were no other players that received more than five votes. The next biggest vote-getters were Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers (5), Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady (3), and Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (2).
Cooper Kupp of the Los Angeles Rams and Deebo Samuel of the San Francisco 49ers both garnered a single vote.
T.J. Watt of the Pittsburgh Steelers received 11 votes, followed by Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs and Rams defensive lineman Aaron Donald, who each received two votes.

Jonathan Taylor is a long shot to win MVP, but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be given serious consideration.
The Wisconsin native had a good rookie season, but in his second year, he blew up the league. On 332 carries, Taylor piled up 1,811 yards and 18 touchdowns. He was the NFL’s leading rusher in terms of attempts, yards, and touchdowns. In addition, the Colts star had 40 catches for 360 yards and two touchdowns.
It’s simple to argue in favor of Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady. Rodgers and the Packers had the best record in the league at the end of the season (13-4). Brady, meanwhile, topped the NFL in completions (485), passing yards (5.316), and touchdowns (four) (43).
Taylor, on the other hand, presents a compelling argument. The Colts just missed out on a postseason spot, but the Pro Bowl running back was the major reason they were ever in contention.
Throughout the season, Carson Wentz’s play was up and down. As a consequence, Frank Reich’s team was forced to depend on Jonathan Taylor to carry the load. The defense of Matt Eberflus finished in the top ten, but the running back set the tone for the entire team.
Everyone understands the value of a quarterback, but Taylor was just as crucial for Indianapolis in 2021.
The second-year running back is on track to make the Pro Bowl every year.
Jonathan Taylor came within 189 yards of a 2,000-yard running season. With the way the Colts tailback was in 2021, it’ll only be a matter of time until he achieves that goal.
Taylor may have won the rushing championship as a result of Derrick Henry’s foot injury. The resident of Salem, New Jersey, however, slammed the door shut.
The Colts’ front management has positioned the 2020 second-round pick for long-term success. Taylor will have the opportunity to run behind one of the top offensive lines in the league. The standout rushing back was joined at the Pro Bowl by guard Quenton Nelson and center Ryan Kelly. Taylor has the luxury of clear running lanes with the big players up front doing the hard job.
The First-Team All-Pro is a fantastic player. Taylor, who is 5-foot-10 and weighs 226 pounds, can sprint around you, past you, or straight through you. He can outsmart a defense in a variety of ways. Taylor might be in line for a sizable paycheck after his rookie deal expires, assuming he remains healthy.
Although Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady are easy bets for MVP, the players definitely want to shake things up.
