The Boston Celtics may have lost Game 1 of their Eastern Conference semi-final series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but at least one fan seemed to have the energy to get himself into legal trouble after the game by attacking Kyrie Irving. The incident occurred in the arena after the Celtics had lost the game 95-88.

A man in Boston, Massachusetts threw a bottle of beer at Kyrie Irving during the Boston Celtics’ game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The incident was captured on video and quickly went viral, and now the man could be facing a battery charge.

A Boston Celtics fan was arrested last night for throwing a bottle at point guard Kyrie Irving during the team’s loss to the Washington Wizards. The fan, Jared Stanger, threw a bottle at Irving while he was on the ground. He was charged with assault and battery.

Game 4 between the Boston Celtics and Brooklyn Nets was terrible. It got much worse after the end. After Kyrie Irving and the Nets beat the Celtics on Sunday to win the 301 series, Irving walked to midcourt and tapped his foot on the Celtics’ logo. Irving certainly had his moments on the field, but he never became the leader they needed to promote young stars Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown. He was prone to injury. He missed 37 regular season games in two years and missed the entire playoffs in his first year. When he made the playoffs in his second and final season with the team, he was terrible. After beating the Milwaukee Bucks in Game 1 of the second round of the playoffs, Boston has lost four games in a row. Irving was terrible. After losing in Game 4, he was asked about his 19 of 62 throws. He began by answering the question: what difference does it make?

Irving is gone after two disappointing seasons with the Celtics

Fan arrested after throwing water bottle at Irving on Sunday

Irving didn’t have it easy in Game 3 on Friday, as Boston pushed the series back to 2-1. He came back with 39 points and 11 rebounds in the Nets’ win over the Celtics. After the game, he congratulated his teammates and set the tone by stomping on the Celtics logo. As he returned to the locker room, a bottle of water whizzed past his head. According to WCVB5, Boston police said the man has been identified as 21-year-old Cole Buckley of Braintree. Police charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon. A witness saw Buckley throw a Desani water bottle at Irving. Celtics guard Marcus Smart praised the operational work of the Boston Police Department. He said: One bad seed doesn’t mean the whole fruit is poisoned when it comes to Celtics fans. TD Garden gave a statement after the game.  We do not tolerate violations of our guest code of conduct and the guest may be banned from the TD Garden for life, the statement said.
