Capcom, the Japanese videogame publisher behind iconic franchises like Mega Man, Street Fighter, and Resident Evil, showed off their newest game at E3 earlier this week, and it’s set to be an exciting one for fans of the Ace Attorney series. The new title, Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth, will apparently feature a new mechanic designed specifically to aid players in their investigation efforts. The game is set to release in 2019.
In the latest “Ace Attorney” game, Phoenix Wright is up to his old tricks, once again defending his honor against his long-time rival, prosecutor Miles Edgeworth. With an all-new coat of paint, a new protagonist, and a solid story to boot, I had yet to see where the next installment would go. After a few minutes in a demo, I was excited to see how this new game would play out.
The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles will be released on July 27, 2021 on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, and Capcom revealed two new mechanics during a presentation at E3 2021. The first is the dance of deduction. As in other-Ace-Attorney- games, you spend your time outside the courtroom investigating crime scenes and interviewing interesting people. However, in the gameGreat Ace Attorney Chroniclesyou are joined by the great Herlock Scholmes, which is both a blessing and a curse. Herlock finds clues and gets people talking about sensitive topics, then immediately draws the wrong conclusions from the information he finds. Your mission is to discover the truth amidst the disaster Herlock is causing.
. The legal battles are also a little different this time around. They’re called summative exams, and you’re up against six judges. Everyone has their own reasons for believing your client is guilty, and your job is to find holes in their statements and back them up with your evidence. If you convince each juror, they will set the tone and, if you do it right, tip the scales in your client’s favor. These are just some of the differences we can expect fromThe Great Ace Attorney Chronicles. Capcom has promised more surprises for the game’s release.
