CeeDee Lamb is a Cowboy, and one of the most compelling stories of the 2019-2020 NFL season. He has been on the fringe of NFL success for years, and now its up to him to make it happen. After emerging from the dangerous world of Deon Butler, and then the emotionally-sowing world of Randy Moss, he has finally found a home in the family of the Dallas Cowboys. He is a Cowboy. And he is a Hall of Famer.

The Cowboys are doing better than expected this season, ending up with a record of 6-4-1. This is a big improvement from last season, when all of the team’s games resulted in losses–the team only won one game in the entire year. This seems to be a trend for the Cowboys–the team has had a losing record in 2018 and 2019. They seem to make an improvement in the middle of the year, and then lose in the end.

Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was one of the brightest rookies of 2020, as he had a big year with the Dallas Cowboys despite missing quarterback Dak Prescott for most of the season. However, there is always room for improvement, and Lamb seems to be doing just that. Lamb basically looks like former Cowboys and Pro Football Hall of Fame member Terrell Owens at the start of the 2021 NFL season.

C.D. Lamb had a great rookie season for the Cowboys

December 2020. | George Walker/Icon Sportswire via Getty Images Lamb was an unstoppable pass catcher during his college career with the Oklahoma Sooners. After catching 46 passes for 807 yards and seven touchdowns in 2017, Lamb was one of the top receivers in the country in 2018 and 2019. He accounted for 1,158 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in 2018 and 1,327 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2019. Lamb’s great play helped him become a top pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and was selected by Jerry Jones of the Cowboys with the No. 17 pick. With the offensive stars surrounding Lamb, he was poised for a breakout year in Dallas in 2020. The Cowboys had quarterback Dak Prescott as their primary playmaker and running back Ezekiel Elliott in the backfield with him. They also had two other excellent receivers to catch Prescott’s passes: Amari Cooper and Michael Gallup. But Prescott’s injury early in the season drastically changed the Cowboys’ offensive system. Andy Dalton, Ben Dinucci and Garrett Gilbert started as QBs in Dallas during the year and proved to be good outliers against Prescott. Although he played with different quarterbacks, Lamb still had a good season. In 2020, he caught 74 passes for 935 yards and five touchdowns.

He portrays Terrell Owens for the 2021 NFL season

WR Cowboys CeeDee Lamb wore a wristband today that said Get your popcorn ready. In response to that question, Lamb referred to the shiny ball he received from Dake Prescott during today’s OTA practice. It looks like he’s ready to build on his impressive first season. – Jon Machota (@jonmachota) June 3, 2021 With Prescott returning to the Cowboys in 2021, Lamb has a chance to make a big jump this season. But to prepare, the young pass catcher goes to Owens, a former Cowboys receiver and Hall of Fame member. As the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports, Lamb wore a wristband during the OTAs that read Get your popcorn ready. Lamb, of course, said Owens was the inspiration for his bracelet, as TO not only used the phrase to crown his accomplishments, but also celebrated a famous touchdown in 2007 by grabbing a bucket of popcorn from fans and throwing it over himself. According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the current Cowboys star made some big plays during OTAs and imitated Owens, including the ball he caught from Prescott. I mean, as a normal receiver, I feel like when the ball is 50/50 in the air, the receiver feels like it’s always 100/0, Lamb said, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. I want to be more aggressive. Every time I see that ball in the air, I think it’s mine. Lamb also said he thought he would be back for his sophomore year. All of this may be evaluated in the future, Lamb said, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram newspaper. I look forward to the future. I can’t wait for the season.

Cowboys fans should hope C.D. Lamb becomes the next Terrell Owens

. If Lamb can become the next Owens, Cowboys fans are very curious to see what the future holds. Owens is a member of the Hall of Fame and has caught 1,078 passes for 15,934 yards and 153 touchdowns in his career. With the Cowboys, he scored over 1,000 yards in each of his three seasons in Dallas and even became a Pro Bowler and First Team All Pro in 2007 when he caught 81 passes for 1,355 yards and 15 touchdowns. Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo also spent two of his four Pro Bowl seasons with him. Lamb certainly has the potential to become a top receiver like Owens and other great Cowboys players like Michael Irvin, Drew Pearson and Dez Bryant. He proved it in college and during his junior year. If he lives up to his potential, he will not only become a Cowboys legend, but he will help Prescott play at the highest level, like Owens did with Romo. If all goes well, Lamb and the Cowboys will be a very successful team and must-see television. Get the popcorn ready. statistics courtesy of Sports Reference and Pro Football Reference.
